This is the Violette Fields Lilybelle Pinafore. It’s made with a japanese fabric designed by Kayo Horaguchi. It’s a really fun sewing pattern! It’s just one pattern piece that you cut out twice, then sew right sides together. The buttons are from Juicy Couture, I worked in their fabric and trim department for a while and the manager would periodically let us take stuff home when sample storage was running low.
I made this little dress for my daughter with an American Apparel tank top and Nani Iro double-gauze (which I think is the most dreamy fabric imaginable). I designed the little embroidery pattern on the tank. I just sketched out some designs on paper and picked that one and traced it on the fabric with a chalk pencil. It has stood up to many washings so far, so I’m happy about that! And I think my model is gorgeous!
